NSU's Bissah Returns with Win in 1,500 Meters at Coastal Carolina
CONWAY, S.C. -- Martha Bissah made her return to the track a successful one, winning the 1,500 meters as the Norfolk State women's track & field team opened its outdoor season at the Chanticleer Challenge hosted by Coastal Carolina on Saturday.

Bissah, who completed her indoor eligibility in 2020, had not raced in an NSU uniform since the MEAC Indoor Championships in February of that year. The Spartans did not compete in any outdoor meets in 2020 due to the pandemic, allowing last year's seniors, like Bissah, the opportunity to return this year.
On the men's side, Trequan Barnes and Kai Cole both won individual races and ran legs on NSU's 4x100 relay team.
Barnes registered a PR in winning the 200 meters with a time of 21.17 seconds. Cole, meanwhile, registered a winning time of 10.61 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
