DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University Athletics Director of Academics for Student-Athlete Services Cassandra Abrams has been accepted into two NCAA professional development programs.
Abrams will participate in the NCAA/Women Leaders in College Sports Women's Leadership (WLS) from April 21-23 followed by the NCAA/Women Leaders in College Sports Institute for Administrative Advancement (IAA) May 24-27. Both events will take place online.
"These are two of the premier development events in collegiate athletics for aspiring women leaders," Abrams said. "I'm very excited for the opportunity to learn and to exchange ideas with fellow professionals and to respresent B-CU."

The WLS is developed for women aspiring to or just beginning a career in intercollegiate athletics. It aims to enrich participants' skills, expand their professional network and promote the recruitment and retention of women working in intercollegiate athletics administration.
Considered the premier "level one" leadership development program for women in intercollegiate athletics administration, the IAA features an engaging faculty—including leaders representing all NCAA divisions and pioneers in women's athletics—that prepares, empowers and inspires participants to become successful administrators and advance within the profession.
"Congratulations to Cassandra for being accepted to these prestigious opportunities," Assistant AD for Student Athlete Services/Academics Dr. Ryan Griffin said. "Not only will she benefit from participating, so will all our Student-Athletes."
The team captain for B-CU's inaugural bowling team, Abrams joined the Office of Student-Athlete Services in September 2019.
