NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 10, 2021—
North Carolina A&T State sophomore Randolph Ross was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today, while
Norfolk State senior Kiara Grant was selected as Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.
North Carolina A&T State junior Brandon Hicklin was named Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, while
Norfolk State junior Arieana Parker was named Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Ross (So., Raleigh, N.C.) is ranked top-10 nationally in two events after this past weekend’s meet at the University of South Carolina. He ran a personal-best 20.64 in the 200 meters, coming in second, and that time is currently fifth-fastest in the nation. Ross also won the 400 meters with a 45-79, which is currently sixth-best in the nation.
Grant (Sr., Kingston, Jamaica) ran a 7.20 in the 60 meters at the Virginia Beach Invitational on Monday, Feb. 1, setting a new facility record, tying her own school record and winning the event in posting the fourth-fastest time in the nation. She also ran a 23.90 in the 200 meters at Liberty this past weekend, winning the event with a season-best time.
Hicklin (Jr., Spartanburg, S.C.) came in third in the long jump at the South Carolina Invitational, leaping 24 feet, 1.75 inches (7.36 meters). Hicklin is the MEAC’s top long jumper so far this indoor season, and he also ranks in the top 15 nationally.
Parker (Jr. Smithfield, Va.) set the MEAC’s best mark in the weight throw at the Virginia Beach Invitational on Monday, Feb. 1, tossing the weight 57 feet, five inches (17.50 meters) to finish second in the event and pace the conference.

Latifa Ali (Coppin State) set new school records in the 60 meters (7.36) and 200 meters (24.01) at the East Coast Invite.
Joseph Manu (Coppin State) came in second in both the 60 meters (6.66) and 200 meters (21.24) at the East Coast Invite.
Alanna Newby (Coppin State) was second in the shot put at the East Coast Invite with a mark of 42 feet, 10.25 inches.
Camren Wynder-Hill (Norfolk State) was runner-up in the long jump at Liberty, jumping a season-best 22 feet, 11.75 inches.
Arrieya Harper (North Carolina A&T State) was fourth in the triple jump at the South Carolina Invitational, leaping 39 feet, 4.5 inches.
Delecia McDuffie (North Carolina A&T State) was second in the 200 meters at the South Carolina Invitational, running a MEAC-best 23.53.
