"The young community has been fighting lately, for our lives, for our families and for each other," FAMU and MEAC SAAC President Morgan Mitchell said. "In doing that, the stress, the pain and anxiety of everything can sometimes be overwhelming. We would love for you to join the MEAC SAAC members and FAMU Athletics as we talk about these issues and how they relate to our mental health. #BLACKLIVESMATTER."
The purpose of the MEAC SAAC is to foster a unified forum, which provides equal and representative dialogue from MEAC student-athletes relating to NCAA and Conference legislation as well as other issues that affect their welfare. Further, this committee strives to maintain a positive environment that cultivates a healthy relationship between the athletic administrators and the student-athletes. The Committee is dedicated to maintaining a positive commitment to support and value diversity and equity among student-athletes.
"Here at FAMU, we will continue to fortify the #FAMUALLIN4CHANGE initiative and part of doing so is supporting and standing in solidarity with our student-athletes and community," Ronald Reeves, Associate Athletic Director – Revenue Generation, said.
The MEAC SAAC Presidents will be joined by:
