CSU Men's Track Rises to 21st in FloTrack National Rankings

AUSTIN, Texas – Coppin State's men's track & field team has moved up two spots in the latest FloTrack NCAA Team Rankings which were released on Monday afternoon. The Eagles, who were previously ranked 23rd, now sit at 21st, tied with Minnesota, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
 
Carl Hicks, who became the Eagles' head coach in the 1999 season but has been with program since 1993, guides an Eagles team which is anchored by seniors Joseph Amoah and Aaron Lewis. Amoah has qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash for his native Ghana, while Lewis has been one of the top hurdlers in nation the last two seasons.
 
The Eagles also boast four other returning All-Americans in Malik John, Joseph Manu, Abayie Opuni and Theodore Westcarr with Randy Serville (sprints/mid-distance), Cheyenne Johnson (sprints/mid-distance), Michael Scott (jumps) and Balvin Richards (throws) climbing up the conference ranks.
 
This indoor season, Amoah tops the MEAC in the 200-meter dash (20.87, 8th in NCAA) and third in the 60-meter dash (6.74, 39th in NCAA). Lewis sits second in the MEAC in the 60-meter hurdles (7.88, 30th in NCAA).

Elsewhere in the FloTrack national poll, North Carolina A&T State in No. 10 in the men's poll and tied for No. 17 in the women's poll.
