Norfolk State's Bissah Wins Heat, Advances to 800 Final
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Norfolk State junior Martha Bissah ran away with the first heat of the women's 800 meters Friday night at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, advancing to Saturday's national final.
Bissah clocked a preliminary time of 2 minutes, 6.36 seconds to win her heat. She pulled away with a strong final lap, winning by 0.4 seconds ahead of runner-up Rachel Pocratsky of Virginia Tech. Both earned automatic spots from the heat into Saturday's final

S.C. State's Richard Advances to Final in Men's 400
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- South Carolina State record-setting sprinter Tyrell Richard advanced to the finals of the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships held at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.
Richard won his heat (4) in the 400 meters with the fastest overall time of 45.65, his second best time of the season.

NCAT's White Paces Field in 200 Prelims
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- North Carolina A&T State's Kayla White, who for much of the indoor season boasted the world's fastest 200-meter time, posted the fastest time in that event during the prelims Friday evening at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
She ran a 22.94 to win her heat, and White also reached the finals of the 60-meter hurdles -- turning in the third-fastest time at 7.94. She won her heat race in that event as well.
