MEAC Cross Country Back in Full Swing This Weekend

After several MEAC squads had their meets cancelled or postponed this past weekend due to Hurricane Florence, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) cross country is back in full swing this week, with five teams currently slated to be in action.

Bethune-Cookman (Embry-Riddle Spike Classic) and Florida A&M (Falcon Invitational) were the only teams in action this past weekend. FAMU won the men's team title at the Falcon Invitational, and David Too -- the defending MEAC cross country champion -- earned individual gold with a time of 24:21.89 -- the conference's top time at 8,000 meters.

The Rattlers had six of the top eight individual finishers on the men's side.

The FAMU women came in fourth, with Emmax Kiplagat leading the way. She posted a MEAC-best time of 18:11.73 over the course of 5,000 meters.

Too and Kiplagat were named the MEAC's Runners of the Week.

Maryland Eastern Shore will host the UMES Invitational in Princess Anne, Md. on Saturday -- where Coppin State, Delaware State and Howard will also compete. South Carolina State will head to Rock Hill, S.C. for the Winthop/adidas Invite.
