North Carolina A&T State Men's Track Ranked 18th Nationally

The North Carolina A&T State University men's outdoor track & field team is currently ranked 18th in the latest NCAA Division I Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Team Rankings. The Aggies jumped 12 spots from the previous week. As a conference, the MEAC is ranked 10th nationally in the latest men's poll.

Led by head coach Duane Ross, the ranking is the program's and the MEAC's best since rising to No. 21 in week six of the 2016 outdoor season. Out of the top 25 teams, the Aggies are only one of three teams ranked from non-Power 5 conferences.

The Aggies moved up the charts based on strong performances from several student-athletes. According to the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRSS), sophomore Jaylan Mitchell currently ranks No. 1 nationally in the 100 meters as he ran a 10.00 at the Aggie Invitational on April 13. Junior hurdler Michael Dickson is ranked fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (13.57) while teammate Todd Townsend is ninth in the same event (13.72). The 4x100-meter relay team has the eighth-fastest time (39.15) nationally while the mile relay team stands at 25th (3:07.23).

Junior Rodney Rowe ranks 16th (20.58) in the 100 and 33rd nationally (10.29) in the 110-meter hurdles. Freshman Trevor Stewart is 26th (46.38) in the 400 and 45th in the 200 (20.8).
