NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 9, 2017—The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will host Soleful Gestures – a community initiative shoe and clothes drive, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Feb. 15-17, during the 2018 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championship in Landover, Md.
 
The MEAC is asking fans to donate a gently used pair of shoes, or gently used clothing, in exchange for a $3 ticket into that day’s events at the MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championship. All donations will go to the Value Village Community Donations Center in Landover Hills, Md., to benefit the community. All donated items must be placed in 13-gallon kitchen-sized bags.
 
The championship will be held at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md., and begins Thursday, Feb. 15. Events conclude Saturday, Feb. 17, with the awards ceremony.
