North Carolina A&T State's Rodney Rowe were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Co-Men's Track Performers of the Week, the conference announced today while
Bethune-Cookman's Jonina Brinson and
North Carolina A&T State's India Brown are the MEAC's Co-Women's Track Performers of the Week.
North Carolina A&T State's Lasheon Strozier and
Madeleine Akobundu were selected as the MEAC's Men’s and Women’s Field Performers of the Week.
Kemp (Monroe, Ga.) once again put the nation on notice as he dropped a 6.59 in the 60-meter dash at the Dunamis Super Meet on Thursday, Feb. 8. As a result of his time, Kemp set a MEAC indoor record as he ranks fourth nationally. He also participated in the 200-meter dash and finished second overall in the event.
Rowe (Clayton, N.C.) clocked a 20.74 at the Tyson Invitational on Friday as he finished second overall. He ascended to the top of the MEAC and ranks seventh nationally entering this week's MEAC Track & Field Championships.
Strozier (Douglasville, Ga.) jumped 51-7.25 this past weekend while competing at the Tyson Invitational in the triple jump. He posted the MEAC's top mark in the event while moving up to 23rd nationally.
Jonina Brinson (Swainsboro, Ga.) ran the second-fastest time in the MEAC in the 60-meter dash at the Dunamis Super Meet as she ran a 7.47 en route to a first-place performance.
Brown (Florence, S.C.) competed at the Tyson Invitational over the past weekend and moved to the top of the MEAC and 31st nationally after a time of 23.45 in the 200.
Akobundu (Lanham, Md.) jumped 19-9.75 feet in the long jump at the Tyson Invitational as she logged a season-best and MEAC-best mark.

Trequan Barnes (Norfolk State) set a new facility record in the 500-meters after running a time of 1:03.52 at the VMI Winter Relays.
Ayana Dozier (Norfolk State) finished as runner-up in the pentathlon at the VMI Winter Relays with a total of 3,081 points.
Jonathan Moore (Bethune-Cookman) won the 800 meters in a time of 1:52.91 at the Dunamis Super Meet.
Taejah Robertson (Norfolk State) won the 60-meter hurdles clocking in at 8.57 at the VMI Winter Relays.
Garth Warner (Norfolk State) won the high jump (6-10.75) at the VMI Winter Relays.
Kelton Williams (Bethune-Cookman) posted a mark of 6-8.75 at the Dunamis Super Meet to win the high jump.
