Joseph Amoah of Coppin State and Olivia Andrews of North Carolina Central were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Men's and Women’s Track Performers of the Week, the conference announced today. North Carolina A&T State’s Brandon Hicklin and Nazah Reddick were named the MEAC Men's and Women's Field Athletes of the Week.
Amoah (Jr., Greater Accra, Ghana) won the 60-meter dash at the Fast Track Season opener, posting a time of 6.72. Along with him running a personal best time and tying his school record, he currently holds the top time in NCAA Division I.
Andrews (Fr., Upper Marlboro, Md.) broke the JDL Early Bird Duals meet record in the 400-meter dash in her first collegiate meet. She finished in first place with a time of 57 seconds.
Hicklin (Fr., Spartanburg, S.C.) came out the gate strong in the JDL Fast Track season opener in the long jump. He reached a height of 23-10 in his first-ever collegiate meet and broke the meet and school record as a result.
Reddick (Jacksonville, Fla.) leaped on the scene this weekend with a first-place performance in the high jump at the JDL Fast Track Season opener, with her winning height of 5-8.75 feet.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS (Men)
Janoi Brown (MDES) won the men’s 400-meter dash at the Cappy Anderson Invite with a personal best time of 49.4.
Milan Bullock (HOW) finished first (6-6) in the high jump at the HBCU Battle.
Tamunoibi Dabipi (MDES) qualified for MEAC Indoor Championship with a throw of 15.68 meters throw at the Cappy Anderson Invite.
Colby Gibson (NCAT) won the men’s long jump with a leap to 7.01 meters as a freshman at the JDL Early Bird Duals.
Regan Kimtai (NCAT) broke his school record with a time of 8:44:70 in the 3,000-meter run.
Balvin Richards (CSU) placed sixth in the JDL Fast Track season opener with a toss of 48-10.75 in the shot put
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS (Women)
Zyah Brown (MDES) finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.48.
Bhrandi Crenshaw (NCCU) had two, top three performances as she won the triple jump setting a meet record distance of 12.62 meters, as well as placing third in the women’s high jump with a leap of 5-3.
Kamaya Debose-Epps (NCAT) won the 60-meter dash, with a time of 7.56.
Tre’J Johnson (CSU) took second in long jump (17-11) and third in Triple Jump (37-3.25), at the Fast Track Season Opener.
Tatiana Ogundejo (CSU) ran a time of 5:12.11 in the mile as she took second place while setting a new personal best at the Fast Track Season Opener.
