NORFOLK, Va. - Joseph Amoah of Coppin State and Rodney Rowe of North Carolina A&T State have been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Co-Men's Track Performers of the Week, the conference announced today. Norfolk State’s Martha Bissah and North Carolina A&T State’s India Brown were named Co-Women’s Track Performers of the Week while Norfolk State’s Jacob Milton and Morgan State’s Zhane Washington were selected as the MEAC Men's and Women's Field Performers of the Week.
Amoah is coming off a solid weekend after posting a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash at the Penn State National and third-place performance in the 200. In the 60, the sophomore from Greater Accra, Ghana ran the fourth-fastest time in the MEAC (6.72) while posting the third-fastest time (21.21) in the 200. Amoah ranks 38th nationally in the 60 and 28th in the 200.
Rowe moved to the top of the charts in the MEAC as the Clayton, N.C. native won the 200 in a MEAC-best time of 21.03 at the Liberty Kickoff. His mark currently ranks 14th nationally.
Milton walked away with the high jump title at the Penn State National last weekend as he matched his personal record in only one attempt with a height of 7-0.5. Milton currently ranks 21st nationally in the high jump and first in the MEAC.
Brown put forth an all-around weekend at the Liberty Kickoff with a pair of first-place titles in the 60 and 200-meter dashes. The senior from Florence, S.C. won the 60 in a time of 7.52 and followed it up with a winning time of 23.86 in the 200. Brown, who already owns the second-fastest time in the 60 this season amongst MEAC performers, ran the fourth-fastest time while posting the second-fastest time in the 200. Her time in the 200 ranks 37th nationally as of last weekend.
Bissah is rounding into form as the month of February approaches after placing second in the 800 at the Penn State National. She was the top collegiate finisher in the event with a personal-best time of 2:06.59. Bissah moved to 10th nationally in the 800 and ranks as the top performer in the MEAC.
Washington won both the long jump and triple jump at the Wesley Brown Women’s Invitational on Saturday. The Baltimore, Md. native posted a pair of personal bests as she ranks fourth in the MEAC in the long jump (18-7.25) and third in the triple jump (40-0.75).

Madeleine Akobundu (North Carolina A&T State) placed second in the long jump (19-6) at the Liberty Kickoff.
Annastacia Barham (Morgan State) captured the 200-meter dash title at the Wesley Brown Women’s Invitational and came in second in the 60.
Trequan Barnes (Norfolk State) posted a personal-best time (47.57) in the 400 and ranks third in the MEAC after finishing third in the invitational section at the Penn State National. He also helped the 4x400-meter relay team finish as runner-up in its fastest time of the indoor season (No. 4 in MEAC).
Eusilah Chepkirui (Hampton) posted the MEAC’s fastest time (18:10.68) in the 5,000 at the Liberty Kickoff.
Judah Corriette (Maryland Eastern Shore) placed first in the 800-meter run and led the Hawks’ mile relay squad to a first-place finish at the Wesley Brown Men’s Invitational.
Stanley Davis (Hampton) ran the MEAC’s second-fastest time in the 800 with a mark of 1:53.82 at the Liberty Kickoff.
Kristen Deacon (Coppin State) placed second in the weight throw at the Penn State National Open with a toss of 57-9.75. She also broke her own school record which was set the week before.
Sidney Holston (Bethune-Cookman) moved up to 63rd nationally following a first-place throw in the weight throw and placed fourth in the shot put at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness.
Deyvon Howell (Morgan State) crossed the finish line in first place in the 60 (6.8) and placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.39 at the Wesley Brown Men’s Invitational.
Daniel Kiptoo (Bethune-Cookman) won the 3,000-meter run at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness.
Jaelen Leonard (Hampton) posted the MEAC’s second-best mark (19-7) in the long jump at the Liberty Kickoff.
Nehemiah Lipford (North Carolina A&T State) notched a season-best mark in the long jump (6-8.25) at the Liberty Kickoff.
Korey Lombard (Howard) led Howard to a first-place finish in the mile relay while placing third in the 200 at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness.
Quamecha Morrison (Bethune-Cookman) ran the fifth-best time in the MEAC after placing fifth in the 200 and placed third in the 60 at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness.
Elijah Noel (Coppin State) placed second in the long jump (22-1.75) and fourth in the triple jump (43-1) at the George Mason University Patriot Games.
Uchechi Onuoha (Howard) qualified for the IC4A/ECAC Championships while breaking last week’s mark by one-tenth of a second (8.62) while competing at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness.
Neus Quinonero (Maryland Eastern Shore) qualified for the MEAC Championship in both the mile (4th) and 3,000-meter runs (6th) while competing at the Wesley Brown Women’s Invitational.
Daniel Seawright (South Carolina State) placed in three events at the VMI Team Challenge as he won the long jump with a personal-best leap of 24-4.5 while also finishing fourth in the triple jump (43-9.75) and fifth in the 60-meter dash.
Erielle Wallace (Coppin State) recorded the MEAC’s top time in the 400-meter run at the Penn State National Open in 55.89.
Akassja White (Bethune-Cookman) won the weight throw with a mark of 56-4 at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness.
