SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Hampton University freshman Jaelen Williams took third place late Saturday night in the U.S. Track and Field Junior Nationals 400 hurdles held at Sacramento State University.
His time of 50.61 earned him an alternate spot on the U.S. Junior National team for the World Championships in London in early August. He trailed Quincy Hall (49.51) and Thomas Burns (49.88) to earn automatic spots on the junior national team.
Entering the event off his 12th-place finish and second team All-America honors at the NCAA Outdoor Championships earlier this month, Williams ran a 50.80 to win his heat on Friday and advance to the finals.
