MEAC ANNOUNCES OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD WEEKLY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va. – Florida A&M senior Dennis Pugh and sophomore Jharna Alston were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Track Athletes of the Week. Bethune-Cookman’s Barry Kimbrough and teammate Summer Brown, along with Florida A&M's were named the MEAC Men’s and Women’s Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced today.

Pugh (Sr., St. Petersburg, Fla., Sprints) won two events at the FAMU Relays and helped the 4x400 relay team to a third-place finish. He won the 110m hurdles, with a time of 14.20 and also finished first in the 400m, with a mark of 52.33. 

Alston (So., Atlanta, Ga., Sprints) placed first in three events at the FAMU Relays. She won the 100m, with a time of 11.97 and the 200m at 24.81. Also, she anchored the 4x400 relay team with a time of 3:48.33.

Kimbrough (r-Sr., Waukegan, Ill., Throws) registered two first-place finishes at the Tiger Orange and Blue Invitational. He won the shot put (14.30m) and the discus (46.30m), while placing third in the hammer throw.

Brown (r-Sr., Litchfield Park, Ariz., Sprints/Throws) won two events at the Tiger Orange and Blue Invitational. She won the 100m hurdles, with a time of 14.60, and the long jump at 5.61m. Also, she placed second in the triple jump.

Giacommucci (Sr., Perry, Fla., Jumps) won two events at the FAMU Relays. She captured first with personal bests in the triple jump at 12.31m and in the high jump at 1.69m.

Other Top Performers: 

Dennis Magee (FAMU) won the shot put, with a toss of 14.66m, at the FAMU Relays.

Junior Saint Preux (B-CU) finished third, in the 110m hurdles, at the Tiger Orange and Blue Invitational.
