MEAC to Host ?Soleful Gestures? Shoe Drive

NORFOLK, Va. — The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will host a shoe drive during the 2016 MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championship, Friday, February 12 in Landover, Md.

The MEAC is asking fans to donate a gently used pair of shoes in exchange for a $3 ticket to Friday’s events at the NCAA Division I MEAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships. All donations will go to the Value Village Community Donation Center in Landover Hills, Md. and benefit the community.

Friday’s championship events include: men’s heptathlon, women’s pentathlon, men and women’s 60m hurdles, men and women’s high jump, men and women’s 400m dash, men and women’s 60m dash, men and women’s weight throw, men and women’s 800m run, and men and women’s distance medley.

The championship will be held at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md., and begins Thursday, February 11. Events conclude Saturday, February 13 with the awards ceremony.
