MEAC ANNOUNCES INDOOR TRACK & FIELD WEEKLY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va. – Shenel Crooke and Jailah Mason of Morgan State were named the MEAC Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week, while Eric Ellis and Siobhan Ford-Holland of Hampton were the MEAC Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week as announced by the conference on Wednesday.

Crooke (Jr., Basseterre, St. Kitts, Sprints) won the 60m (7.48) and 200m (24.34) at the Terrier Invitational.  She ran qualifying times in both events for the ECAC Championships.

Mason (So., Sterling Heights, Mich., Jumps) won the high jump, in an ECAC Championship, qualifying leap of 5’10.75 ft., to win the Terrier Invitational.

Ellis (So., Chesapeake, Va., Mid-Distance) won a pair of events at the Darius Dixon Memorial.  He captured the 800m (1:59.76) and the 3,000m (9:45.72).

Ford-Holland (Gr., Chester, Va., Jumps) won the triple jump at the Darius Dixon Memorial, with a leap of 12.31m (40’4.75 ft.) which broke the meet record.

 

Other Top Performers: 

Fonyi Agendia (MSU) won the 60m dash (6.83) at the Terrapin Invitational in a personal best time.

Randi Bohler (CSU) placed third in the 60m hurdles (8.91) at the Terrapin Invitational.

Ce’aira Brown (HAM) finished second in the 800m (2:06.04) and as a part of the 4x400 relay team (3:40.22) that was second at the Terrier Invitational.

Milan Bullock (HOW) won the high jump (6’6 ft.) at the Terrapin Invitational.

Dominique Bynum-Cooper (HOW) notched a third-place finish in the shot put (14.21m) at the Terrapin Invitational.

Michelle Cole (Howard) registered a third-place finish in the 400m (57.63) at the Terrapin Invitational.

Matt Colvin (HOW) won the long jump (24’1 ft.) at the Terrapin Invitational.

Kristen Deacon (CSU) placed third in the weight throw (16.04m) at the Terrapin Invitational.

Rico Duncan (UMES) set a new collegiate best in the weight throw (17.69m) to finish third at the Wesley Brown Invitational.

Kenneth Fisher (B-CU) won the long jump (7.52m) at the Camel City Invitational.

Justin Hamilton (NCAT) won the 400m (48.70) at the Camel City Invitational.

Tristie Johnson (B-CU) took third in the 200m (24.91) at the Camel City Invitational.

Javron Keene (CSU) won the weight throw (14.70m) at the Terrapin Invitational for his first indoor victory this season.

Morgan Knights (NCAT) was the only collegiate qualifier for the 60m hurdles finals at the Camel City Invitational, and ran 8.49 to finish seventh.

Mark London (CSU) placed second in the 800m (1:50.57) at the Penn State National Invitational. 

Jonathan Moore (B-CU) finished second in the 400m (49.18) and fifth in the 800 meters (1:53.58) at the Camel City Invitational.

Khalil Rmidi Kinini (UMES) won the 3,000m (8:10.25) at the Wesley A. Brown Invitational and qualified for the IC4A Championships

Dypna Umunakwe (UMES) won the 400m (58.47) and was a part of a winning 4x400 relay team (3:49.97) at the Wesley A. Brown Invitational at the US Naval Academy.

Akassja White (B-CU) finished fifth in the shot put at the Camel City Invitational.
