NORFOLK, Va. – Trey Holloway of Hampton and Xavier Collins of Norfolk State were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Co-Track Athletes of the Week, while Chris Lee of Norfolk State was selected as the MEAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. India Brown of North Carolina A&T State earned the MEAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Siobhan Ford-Holland of Hampton earned the MEAC Women’s Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced today.
Holloway (Sr., Chesapeake, Va., Sprints/Hurdles) posted a the third-best time in the nation of 7.78 to win the 60 meter hurdles in a tri-meet with Norfolk State and Virginia Commonwealth. In the same meet he won the 200-meters in 21.66 which is 15th best in the country. In the 60-meters he came within .06 of his school record.
Collins (R-So., Chesapeake, Va., Sprints) had a hand in two first-place finishes in the UNC Art & Linda Maillet Open. In the 200 meters he won in 22.50, while he was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that won in 3:21.97.
Lee (So., Woodbridge, Va., Shot Put) broke his own indoor school record in the shot put for the third time this year with a MEAC best 54’1. He won the event for the third time in four meets thus far this season for the Spartans.
Brown (So., Florence, SC, Sprints) recorded a first-place finish in the 60-meters at the Vulcan Invitational in 7.46. She took second in the 200 meters in 24.04 at the Alabama-Birmingham Blazer Invitational as well last weekend.
Ford-Holland (Gr., Chester, Va., Jumps) won the long jump, with a mark of 5.62m (18’5.25 ft) at a tri-meet with Norfolk State and Virginia Commonwealth.

Trey Clark (Hampton) won his first collegiate event in the pole vault with a 13’9.25 mark in a tri-meet
Ed’Ricus Williams (Bethune) won the high jump at the UAB Invitational with a jump of 2.10m.
Kareem Fair (Bethune) had a pair of top six finishes in the UAB Invitational coming in third in the 60m (6.85) and sixth in the 200m (21.96)
Michael James (Coppin) won the 500 meters at the Great Dane Classic in a time of 1:03.87
Shane Green (Coppin) won the triple jump at the Great Dane Classic with a season-best leap of 15.29m (50’2).
Nicovia Carter (UMES) finished 10th in the shot put with a throw of 12.41m at the Great Dane Classic
Naje Benton (UMES) finished second in the long jump and qualified for the IC4A Championships in March with a leap of 7.23m at the Great Dane Classic.
Michael Dickinson (NCA&T) won the 60 meter hurdles at the University of Alabama in 7.82
Ke’Von Lumb (Morgan) had two top 20 finishes in the Great Dane Classic in the long jump (17’8.75) and 60 meters (7.79).
Jordan Leon (UMES) finished fourth in the 800 meters at the Great Dane Classic in 1:52.99
Nickheila John (Norfolk St) had two first place finishes at the University of North Carolina in the 200 (25.22) and 400 (57.98)
Tristie Johnson (Bethune) took third in the 60m at the UAB Invitational in 7.53 seconds
Summer Brown (Bethune) finished second in the pentathlon at the JDL Combined Events in Winston-Salem, NC. She won the long jump with a leap of 5.22m.
Melissa Caddle-Hope (Coppin) finished third in her heat and fourth overall in the 400 meters at the Great Dane Classic in a time of 55.56
Deandra Demiel (Coppin) won the high jump at the Great Dane Classic with a leap of 1.75m (5’8.75)
Shenel Crooke (Morgan) finished eighth in the 60 meters (7.62) at the Great Dane Classic
Kristian Young (Hampton) won the 60 meters (7.60) and 200 meters (25.15) in a tri-meet with Norfolk State and VCU.
Rachel Halmon (UMES) finished fourth in the 800 meters (2:14.45) at the Great Dane Classic.
Cheyenne Bellerand (Howard) threw a personal best 13.95m in the shot put at the Great Dane Classic in New York to finish third. She is currently ranked first in the shot put in the MEAC.
