Johnson 19th in 100 Meters at NCAA Championships
EUGENE, Ore. - Bethune-Cookman's Tristie Johnson finished 19th in the 100 meter semifinals Thursday at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at the University of Oregon.
The junior from Jacksonville turned in a time of 11.43 seconds in her second appearance at the national meet. Last year, she placed 18th with a time of 11.45.
The top two finishers from each of the three heats plus the next two fastest times advanced to Saturday's finals. Morolake Akinsoun of Texas turned in Thursday's fastest time with a 10.96, followed by Dezera Bryant of Kentucky at 10.99 in an extremely fast competition.
Bethune-Cookman's Ed’Ricus Williams will compete in the high jump Friday.

Parker competes in NCAA Women’s 200 Meters
EUGENE, Ore. – Hampton University senior Le’Quisha Parker competed in the semifinal heats of the women’s 200-meter dash on Thursday at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, held at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field.
Parker ran a 23.54, finishing seventh in her heat.
Her time wound up 23rd overall, leaving Parker shy of qualifying for the weekend’s final. Parker, a Second Team All-American in the event during the indoor season, will likely again be recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) early next week.
The top two times in each heat, and the two best times after, advanced to the final.
