Hampton's Holloway and Okezie end season at NCAA Outdoors

EUGENE, Ore. – Hampton University junior Trey Holloway and senior Chidi Okezie saw their outdoor season end in the semifinal round of the NCAA Championships on Wednesday at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field.

Holloway ran a 13.69 in the semifinals of the men’s 110-meter hurdles, winding up 15th overall. He wound up fourth in the third of the three heat races.

The top two times in each heat, and the two best times after, advanced to the final.

Okezie ran a 46.52 in the semifinals of the men’s 400-meter dash, winding up 13th overall after finishing sixth in the first heat race.

Both Holloway and Okezie are likely to be named Second Team All-Americans by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), when the organization releases its All-America teams early next week.

Senior Le’Quisha Parker will compete in the semifinals of the women’s 200-meter dash on Thursday at 9:14 p.m. EST. She will run in the second of three heat races. ESPN will have live coverage of the meet starting at 8:30 p.m. EST.
