NORFOLK, Va. – North Carolina A&T State’s Saeed Jones and Coppin State’s Alaric Coker were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track Athletes of the week, the conference announced on Wednesday. Maryland Eastern Shore’s Dillon Simon and Deandra Daniel of Coppin State were named the MEAC Men’s and Women’s Field Athletes of the Week.
Jones (Sprints, Sr., Winton, N.C.) set a career-best time of 1:53.54, in the 800m, to capture a first-place victory at the Aggie Invitational. He also won the 1500m, with a time of 4:01.73.
Coker (Sprints, Jr., Baltimore, Md.) recorded a season-best time of 1:51.59, in the 800m, at the Hampton Relays, to claim the victory.
Simon (Thrower, Sr., Roseau, Dominica) set a school record in the shot put, with a mark of 19.31m (63.35 ft.), to claim first place at the Mason Spring Invitational.
Daniel (Jumper, Jr., Trinidad and Tobago) won the high jump with a season-best height of 1.80m (5.91 ft.) at the Delaware Open.

Randi Bohler (CSU) recorded a personal-best time of 14.78 in the 100m hurdles at the Delaware Open.
Steve Coles (NSU) posted a season-best in the 200m, with a time of 20.76, at the Hampton Relays.
Shane Green (CSU) won the triple jump, at the Hampton Relays, with a distance of 15.42m (50.59 ft.).
Romero Hines (NSU) won the long jump, with a personal-best mark of 24.28 ft. (7.40m), at the Hampton Relays.
Morgan Knight (NCAT) finished fourth in the pole vault, with a height of 10-8 ft., at the Aggie Invitational.
Shauntell Lucius (UMES) recorded a career-best mark of 12.23m (40.12 ft.) in the triple jump to place third at the Mason Spring Invitational.
Orwell Maylor (UMES) registered a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles, with a time of 53.42, at the Mason Spring Invitational.
Sherri Owens (NCAT) finished third in the hammer throw, with a distance of 44.2m (145-9), at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
Keenan Smith (NCAT) notched a first-place victory in the triple-jump, with a distance of 51-6.25 (15.54m), at the Aggie Invitational.
Dypna Umunakwe (UMES) finished eighth in the 200m, with a time of 24.61, at the Mason Spring Invitational.
