MEAC ANNOUNCES OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD WEEKLY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton’s Trey Holloway and North Carolina A&T State’s India Brown were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Track Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday. Bethune-Cookman’s Kenneth Fisher and Deidra Jordan were named the MEAC Men’s and Women’s Field Athletes of the Week.

Holloway (Hurdles, Sr., Chesapeake, Va.) reached IC4A qualification after winning the 110m hurdles, with a time of 13.93, at the Raleigh Relays.

Brown (Sprints, Fr., Florence, S.C.) won the 100m and 200m at the Winthrop Invitational and was a member of the second place 4x100 relay team. She ran 11.72 in the 100m to claim the fastest time in the MEAC this season.

Fisher (Jumps, So., East Point, Ga.) recorded a first-place finish in the long jump, with a leap of 7.40m (24-3.50 ft.), at the North Florida Spring Break Invitational. He also placed fourth in the triple jump, with a mark of 14.39m (47-2.50 ft.).

Jordan (Jumps, Sr., Swainsboro, Ga.) placed fourth in the long jump, with a leap of 5.70m (18-8.50 ft.), at the North Florida Spring Break Invitational.

 

Other Top Performers: 

Ce’aira Brown (HAM) placed third, with a time of 2:11.91, in the 800m at the Raleigh Relays.

Ricy Brown (B-CU) finished third in the 1500m, with a time of 3:55.43, at the North Florida Spring Break Invitational.

Tatianna Clark (NCAT) registered a leap of 5.33m (17-6.0 ft.) at the Winthrop Invitational to capture fourth

Aaron Deane (NCAT) recorded a mark of 45-1.0 ft. in the triple jump to finish third at the Winthrop Invitational.

Shantol Hemley (UMES) registered a sixth-place finish in the 800m at the Raleigh Relays, with a time of 2:12.86.

Taj Showalter (UMES) finished fifth in the 110m hurdles at the Raleigh Relays, with a time of 14.69.

Kevin Stanford (UMES) placed second in the high jump and triple jump at the Navy Invitational.

Darren White (NCAT) won the 3k steeple, with a time of 9:34.92, at the Winthrop Invitational.
