Lawrence Goes After History At NCAA Indoor

GREENSBORO – The NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee has announced the participants that will be competing at the 2015 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships

Senior Desmond Lawrence qualified to compete in the men’s 60 meters as the 12th seed after recording a personal-best 6.60 at the 2015 USATF Indoor Championships in Boston on Feb. 27. Lawrence’s 6.60 is also a school record.

Lawrence is a two-time MEAC 60-meter champion, winning the event in 2015 by breaking the conference record with a time of 6.64. He will be making his first NCAA indoor championship appearance. If he is able to make the finals and earn All-American honors, he will become the first Aggie in school history to be named an NCAA All-American as an indoor and outdoor athlete.

Last summer Lawrence became the 11th outdoor All-American in school history when he posted a 10.24 in the 100 meters to place seventh at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.

The indoor championships are scheduled for March 13-14 in Fayetteville, Ark.
