BOSTON, Mass. – Hampton University men’s and women’s track & field student-athletes combined to win five event titles in the Last Chance Meet held at Boston University’s Track & Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon, breaking two school records in the process.
Senior Edose Ibadin (Glendale, Md.) broke his own school record in winning the men’s 800-meter run, turning in a 1:48.19, while junior Ce’aira Brown (Philadelphia, Pa.) won the women’s 800-meter run with a school-record 2:04.80.
Senior Le’Quisha Parker (Silver Spring, Md.) won the women’s 200-meter run with a 21.27.
The Pirates 4x400-meter relay squad – comprised of Ibadin, sophomore Rayon Black (Kingston, Jamaica), freshman Justin Beatty (Bowie, Md.), and senior Chidi Okezie (Philadelphia, Pa.) – won the gold medal with a season-best time of 3:12.44.
Parker and Brown were on the Lady Pirates’ 4x400-meter relay team – along with junior Tanisha Greene (Virginia Beach, Va.) and senior Malekah Holland (Brooklyn, N.Y.) – that won with a 3:41.73.
Okezie also came in second in the men’s 200-meter dash with a 21.27.
The Pirates and Lady Pirate will be in Boston, Mass. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the IC4A and ECAC Indoor Championships.
