MEAC ANNOUNCES INDOOR TRACK & FIELD WEEKLY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va. – Morgan State’s DeSean White and Hampton’s Le’Quisha Parker were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Track Athletes of the Week. Maryland Eastern Shore’s Jared Kerr and Coppin State’s Deandra Daniel were named the MEAC Men’s and Women’s Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.

White (Sprints, Fr., Waldorf, Md.) won the 200m, with a time of 21.95, at the 10th Annual Giegengack Invitational.

Parker (Sprints, Sr., Silver Spring, Md.) set a school record in the 200m at the Scarlet and White Invitational, with a time of 23.33.

Kerr (Jumper, So., Brampton, Ontario) set the school record in the long jump, with a distance of 7.76m (25.4 ft.), at the Nelson Townsend Invitational.

Daniel (Jumper, Jr., Trinidad &Tobago) set a school record and a career best in the high jump, with a distance of 1.84m (6-0.5 ft.), at the Nelson Townsend Invitational.

 

Other Top Performers: 

Angelo Cabrera (B-CU) finished second in the 55m, with a time of 6.36, at the USC Indoor Open.

Tiara Davis (NSU) placed sixth at the Vince Brown Invitational, with a mark of 3.20m (10.49 ft.), in the pole vault.

Desmond Fogg (NSU) set a new personal-best time of 4:19.32 in the mile to help the Spartans place first at the Vince Brown Invitational.

Romero Hines (NSU) set a personal-best mark of 7.15m (23.45 ft.) in the long jump at the Vince Brown Invitational.

Edose Ibadin (HAM) broke his own school record in the 800m to finish second, with a time of 1:48.70, at the Scarlet and White Invitational.

Tristie Johsnon (B-CU) recorded a first-place finish in the 55m, with a time of 7.01, at the USC Indoor Open. 

Shauntel Lucius (UMES) set a personal best in the triple jump with a distance of 11.90m (39.04 ft.) at the Nelson Townsend Invitational.

Desiree Richardson (B-CU) registered a first-place victory in the shot put with a mark of 13.28m (43.56 ft.) at USC Indoor Open.

Dypna Umuankwe (UMES) set a personal best in the 200m at the Nelson Townsend Invitational, with a time of 25.04.

Ed’Ricus Williams (B-CU) won the high jump, with a mark of 2.06m (6.75 ft.), at the USC Indoor Open.

Myles Williams (HOW) finished first in the triple jump at the Nelson Townsend Invitational, with a leap of 14.38m (47.17 ft.).
