CSU's men's track team named to USTFCCCA Academic Team

BALTIMORE –The Coppin State men’s track and field team was named an All-Academic Team selection by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the association announced. The men’s team posted an overall team GPA of 3.02.

Coppin State was the only men’s track program in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) to achieve this distinction.

Coppin State enjoyed some memorable moments on the track this season. The Eagles finished eighth overall at the MEAC indoor championships and seventh overall at the MEAC outdoor championships. Individually, five student-athletes (Rosen Daniel, Haysean Cowie-Clarke, Shane Green, Mark London and Donnell Taylor) represented Coppin State at the NCAA Division I East Regional Preliminary Championship meet in Jacksonville, Florida.

Two Coppin State relay teams (4 x 100 and 4 x 200-meters) set school marks this season. Individually, Daniel also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for his combined academic and athletic accomplishments. He also advanced to the semifinals of the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Division I Regional Preliminary Championships.

A total of 208 women’s teams and 116 men’s teams earned the distinction as a result of earning a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher.
