NORFOLK, Va. – Maryland Eastern Shore’s Jared Kerr and Hampton’s Breana Norman were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Track Athletes of the Week. Maryland Eastern Shore’s Dillon Simon and Coppin State’s Deandra Daniel were named the MEAC Men’s and Women’s Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Friday.
Kerr (Fr., Brampton, Ontario, Canada) was victorious in the 400 hurdles at the Morgan State Legacy Meet. Kerr also helped his 4x400 relay team place first.
Norman (Sr., Virginia Beach, Va.) helped the Lady Pirates capture first in the 4x100 relay and finished fourth in the 200 meters at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Simon (Jr., Pottersville, Dominica) placed first in the discus, resetting his own school record, with a mark of 56.48 meters and finished second in the shot put with a mark 17.42 meters at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Daniel (So., Trinidad & Tobago) captured first in the high jump, while setting a new school record, with a mark of 1.83 meters (6 feet) and finished third in the triple jump, with a mark of 39-05, at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Other Top Performers:
Steve Coles (NSU) ran the fourth-best 200-meter time and sixth-best 400-meter time at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Trey Holloway (Hampton) finished second in the 110-meter hurdles at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Mark London (CSU) won the 800 meters at the Morgan State Legacy Meet, with a time of 1:50.18.
Robert Mercer (Howard) secured first in the pole vault and helped the Bison win the 4x100 relay at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Emmanuel Price (Hampton) finished second in the decathlon and fifth in the triple jump at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Rachel Webb (NSU) ran a personal best of 18:29.75 in the 5,000 meters at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
