Coppin State's Caddle Finishes 21st In 400 Meters

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Coppin State's Melissa Caddle finished 21st overall in the quarterfinals of the 400m at the 2013 NCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championships on Friday at Irwin Belk Track.

Caddle finished eighth in the third heat in a time of 53.97, which was the 21st ranked time overall.

Caddle came up short in her attempt to become the first Coppin State female to reach the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships since 1996.

Diana Pitts, who qualified in 1992, 1993 and 1994, and Twana Allen, who qualified in 1996, are the only Coppin State female athletes to make the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
