SSU Track & Field Competes In GT Invitational
ATLANTA, Ga. – In a final meet prior to the NCAA Regionals on May 23, the Savannah State men’s relay team led the Tigers at the 2013 Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday.
The Tigers competed in the weekend invite in order to qualify for the NCAA Regionals. Qualification lists are set to be released later this week. SSU has qualified runners for the NCAA Regionals every year since the schools elevation to Division I.
The SSU men’s relay team of Kenshard Hamilton, Chazwyn Price, Cameron Hall, and Darrius Baker ran a 40.10 in the 4x100 meter relay for a second place finish.
Hall topped the 110 meter hurdles with a third place finish and a time of 14.16. Price finished the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.50 in 14th place, and the 400m with a time of 48.19 in 16th.
In the field, Dolphurs Hayes placed fourth in the men’s pole vault with a distance of 4.75m/15-7.
Asia Stinson led the Lady Tigers with a sixth place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.99. Jazy Seay-Blane finished 11th in the 200m with a time of 24.62. Stinson ran a 24.90 in the same event, finishing in 28th.

Hornets Second In 4X400 Relay At IC4A Championships
Princeton, N.J. - Delaware State University took second place in the men’s 4x400-meter relay at the 2013 IC4A Championships at Princeton University on Sunday.
The Hornet team of Ryan Carter, Alpha Mansaray, Kevaughn Laviea and Stephen Bowe posted a season-best time of three-minutes-nine.25 seconds, trailing only George Mason (3:08.28) in the 1600-meter relay final.
Carter also captured the bronze medal in the IC4A 400-meter dash championship with a career-best time of 46.20 seconds, behind only first place David Verburg of George Mason (45.34 sec.) and runner-up Tewado Latty of Boston University (46.15). Last week, Carter won MEAC championships in the 400 meter dash and 200 meter dash.

Coppin State's Victorian Wins 400 Hurdles At IC4A Outdoor Championships
PRINCETON, N.J. - Coppin State's Jibri Victorian won the 400-meter hurdles on the final day of competition at the 2013 IC4A Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday at Weaver Stadium on the campus of Princeton University.
Victorian became the first Coppin State student-athlete to capture an IC4A Outdoor title since Steve Delice won the 400 hurdles and the Eagles 4x400-meter relay team finished first during the 2008 outdoor championships.
Victorian won the championship by finishing first in a time of 51.30.
It has been a season of firsts for Victorian as he entered his final outdoor season having never won a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference or IC4A Outdoor championship in the 400 hurdles. One week ago he won his first-ever MEAC 400 hurdle title and added the IC4A title on Sunday.
Coppin State also received a fifth-place finish from its 4x400-relay team aided by Victorian and Rosen Daniel in the 400 meters. The Eagle team of Daniel, Donell Taylor, Victorian and Alaric Coker crossed the line in a season-best time of 3:11.16, while Daniel placed fifth overall in the open 400 meters in a time of 47.36.
Shane Green finished 21st overall in the triple jump with a mark of 45-5.25.
Coppin State's Epps Finishes Seventh In Triple Jump At ECAC Championships
PRINCETON, N.J. - Christina Epps finished seventh in the triple jump on the final day of competition at the 2013 ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday at Weaver Stadium on the campus of Princeton University.
Epps earned a seventh-place finish with a jump of 40-6.25, which ranks as her second-best jump during the outdoor season.
The Eagles also received a 17th-place finish from Alexis Easterling in the triple jump as she posted a mark of 37-8.50.
Deandra Daniel notched a ninth-place finish in the high jump. She finished in a tie for ninth place by clearing 5-7.25, which is her third-best mark of the outdoor season.
