NORFOLK, Va. – Delaware State sophomore Amir Armstrong and Hampton senior Shantae Boney were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Field Athletes of the Week, while Hampton freshman Trey Holloway and Coppin State sophomore Melissa Caddle were named the MEAC Men’s and Women’s Track Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday.
Armstrong (So., Sicklerville, N.J., Jumps) placed first and set an outdoor school record in the triple jump, leaping 49-0.75 ft. (14.95m), at the Morgan State Legacy Meet. The previous record in the event had stood since1981. His jump is the fifth-best in the MEAC this season.
Boney (Sr., District Heights, Md., Multi) earned the heptathlon title at the Morgan State Legacy Meet after she won the 200m dash, 800m run and high jump events while also taking second in the 100m hurdles. Her total score of 4,691 points leads the MEAC and ranks 77th nationally.
Holloway (Fr., Chesapeake, Va., Hurdles) turned in his best time of the season (13.94) to win the 110m hurdles at the Morgan State Legacy Meet. His time ranks second in the MEAC and is tied for 25th in the nation.
Caddle (So., Brooklyn, N.Y., Sprints) earned gold and broke a school record in the 200m dash with a time of 23.75 at the Morgan State Legacy Meet. She broke her previous mark of 23.82 which she set earlier this season at the Shamrock Invitational. Her time ranks seventh in the conference and 66th nationally.

Angelo Cabrera (B-CU) ran the 100m dash with a time of 10.67 to finish in the top five at the Kansas Relays.
Ryan Carter (DSU) crossed the finish line in 21.09 to place second in the 200m dash at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Elias Chesire (FAMU) ran the 3000m steeplechase in 9:08.66 to finish first at the Tim Jones Memorial Meet.
Ian Copeland (NSU) placed fourth in the discus throw with a toss 45.98m at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Torie Cunningham (NSU) ran a season best 24.34 in the 200m dash to finish sixth at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Kadian Dunkley (B-CU) finished in the top 10 in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:20.39 at the Kansas Relays.
Sulaiman Fareed (HAM) had a throw of 15.93m in the shot put to finish third at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Gayon Evans (UMES) finished second in the 100m dash with a time of 11:55 at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
La’Quan Howard (B-CU) took home bronze in the triple jump with a leap of 14.86m at the Kansas Relays.
Dynasty Jones (FAMU) finished the 400m dash with a time of 55.15 to place fourth at the Tom Jones Memorial Meet.
Deidra Jordan (B-CU) finished in the top 15 in the high jump with a leap of 1.58m at the Kansas Relays.
Sasha-Ann Lebert (FAMU) earned gold in the shot put with a throw of 13.92m at the Tom Jones Memorial Meet.
Sherril McFarlane (SCSU) won the 800m dash with a time of 2:12.62 at the War Eagle Invitational.
Kaydianne McKenzie (NSU) finished in the top ten in the triple jump with a leap 11.84m.
Lexia Robinson (UMES) captured gold in the discus with a throw of 47.82m at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Dillon Simon (UMES) placed second in the discus with a toss of 50.18m at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Ackeem Smith (UMES) ran the 110m hurdles in 14.16 to earn bronze at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Benita Taylor (HAM) captured gold in the 800m with a time of 2:11.21 at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
James Taylor (NSU) won the 100m dash with a time of 10.44 at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
Lee Williams (FAMU) placed fourth in the Long Jump with a leap of 6.50m at the Tom Jones Memorial Meet.
T’Nay Williams (DSU) won silver in the Steeplechase with a time of 12:08.87 at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
