NORFOLK, Va. - South Carolina State freshman Anthony Britt, Coppin State junior Deandra Daniel and Norfolk State junior Champagne Bell were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s and Co-Women’s Field Athletes of the Week, while Delaware State freshman Ryan Carter and South Carolina State senior Sherril McFarlane were named Men’s and Women’s Track Athletes of the Week, respectively, the conference announced on Thursday.
Britt (Fr., Dorchester,S.C., Throws) finished among the top three in three events at the Robert Jet Johnson Bulldog Relays. He won the shot put event (14.19m) and was third in the discus (46.10m) and javelin (40.19m) scoring 22 points for the Bulldogs. As a team, SCSU finished first among eight teams.
Daniel (Fr., Trindad and Tobago, Jumps) won the high jump at the Weems Baskin Invitational. She posted a jump of 1.70m (5-07.00ft.) to capture the individual title. Her mark leads the MEAC this season and ranks third all-time at Coppin State.
Bell (Jr., Norfolk, Va., Jumps) won the long jump event at the Tribe Open with a 19-6 ft. leap. Her mark ranks second in the MEAC and is among the top 25 in the East Region this season.
Carter (Jr., New Castle, Del., Sprints) won individual gold medals in the 200m (22.39) and 400m (48.00) races at the Navy Invite. He was also a member of the 4x100m relay team that captured the silver medal in 42.01. As a team the Hornets placed second among four teams.
McFarlane (Sr., Westmoreland, Jamaica, Middle-Distance) won the 800m run at the Robert Jet Johnson Bulldog Relays with a time of 2:18.58. She was also a member of the 4x800m relay team that took home gold in 9:32.73.

Elias Chesire (FAMU) was second in the steeplechase with a time of 9:10.15 at the Florida State Relays.
Steve Coles (NSU) won the 400m race at the Tribe Invitational with a time of 48.49.
Aaron Covington (MSU) won the 400m race at the Weems Baskin Invitational with a time of 49.15 and was aided his team in the 4x100m relay (42.21) and 4x400m relay (3:15.94).
Kadian Dunkley (B-CU) was fourth in the steeplechase with a time of 11:23.80 at the Florida State Relays.
Maria Gwengi (DSU) placed second in the shot put with a 12.42m (49-09.00 ft.) toss at the Golden Ram Invite.
Ashley Ivey (FAMU) took home a fifth place finish in the 100m hurdles with at time of 14.35 and was a member of the 4x100m relay team that finished in second (45.47) at the Florida State Relays.
Barry Kimbrough (B-CU) was sixth in the discus event at the Florida State Relays with a 46.06m (151-01 ft.) toss.
Deidra Jordan (B-CU) placed among the top 20 in the long jump with a 5.23m (17-02.00 ft.) mark at the Florida State Relays.
Kinnesha Jones (FAMU) finished fourth in the triple jump with a 12.08m (132-00 ft.) jump at the Florida State Relays.
Shane Green (CSU) captured the triple jump title at the Weems Baskin Invitational with a leap of 14.67m (48-01.75 ft.).
Celeste Taylor (SCSU) scored 14 points for the Lady Bulldogs and finished in second and third in the shot put and javelin events, respectively, at the Robert Jet Johnson Bulldog Relays.
Jibri Victorian (CSU) won the 400m hurdles at the Weems Baskin Invitational with a time of 52.07.
Seymour Walter (SCSU) won the 800m run in 1:57.95 and was a member of the 4x800m and sprint medley teams that finished among the top two at the Robert Jet Johnson Bulldog Relays.
Lee Williams (FAMU) won the long jump at the Florida State Relays with a 6.94m (22-09.25 ft.) mark.
