On the men's side, the Spartans captured their eighth consecutive and 10
th overall MEAC indoor crown with a total of 152.50 points. Hampton was second with 85 points and Bethune-Cookman was third with 76 points.
Hampton freshman Trey Holloway set a meet record in the 60m hurdles with a mark of 7.84. The previous record of 7.86 was held by Bethune-Cookman's Ronnie Ash (2009).
Spartans Head Coach Kenneth Giles was named the Outstanding Coach for the eighth straight year. "It's always a great honor to represent your conference in a great manner," said Giles. "The student-athletes did a good job. The coaches did a great job, as did our athletic trainers and administration. Everybody played a major role in our team's success."
Bethune-Cookman's Keron Stoute and UMES' Dillon Simon each tallied 15 points to earn Co-Outstanding Field Performer accolades, while NSU's Nathnael Meseret recorded 30.50 points to earn the Outstanding Runner Performer award. Stoute won the heptatholon and was fourth in the high jump. Simon won the shot put event and finished in fourth in the weight throw.
Meseret captured the gold in the 3,000m and mile and was second in the 5,000m. He was also a member of the distance medley relay.
