Holmes Looks To End Career On High Note At NCAA Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa - With just two races left in the outdoor track and field season, Delaware State University's Donte' Holmes finish his career on top as the senior will compete for gold at the 2012 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Holmes recorded a season-best time of 1:48.33 in the NCAA East Region Preliminary, placing  second in his heat and seventh overall. Holmes posted a career-best time of 1:48.11 as a sophomore at the 2010 IC4A Championships.

Victorian Seeded Fourth In NCAA Hurdle Field

BALTIMORE, Md.-Coppin State junior Jibri Victorian is seeded fourth in the 400-meter hurdles for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Victorian is seeded fourth with his school-record time of 50.10.

Victorian, who joins Steve Delice as the only CSU athletes to make back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Outdoor Championships, is slated to run in the third of the three heats. He is the second-seeded runner in the heat.

Last season, Victorian placed seventh in his heat and 22nd overall in the semifinals in a time of 52.10.

A&T Sprinter Begins Quest For National Titles

DES MOINES, Iowa-The outdoor track and field season for North Carolina A&T is coming to an end, as the last few qualifying Aggies prepare to compete in the 2012 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Earl House, Jarrell Elliott, Darryl Williams and Torrance Womack will be competing on one of the biggest stages in collegiate track and field. Jeffrey Lewis is the Aggies' 4x100 meter alternate. Elliott will also be representing the Aggies in the men's 400 meters.

Elliott qualified for the men's 400 meter semifinals after his performance at the NCAA Division I East Regional Preliminary Round where he finished 10th overall with a time of 46.03. Elliott's 46.03 time is the fastest in his heat. Elliott is ranked 13th nationally in the 400 meters thanks to his 45.87 ran at the International Friendship & Freedom Games.

The quartet, ranked 23rd in the nation, qualified for the semifinals with a season-best time of 40.02. This will be the third consecutive year that a men's 4x100 relay team from A&T will compete at the national championships.

Nkrumah To Compete At NCAA Outdoor Track Championships This Week

NORFOLK, Va. – Junior Keith Nkrumah will represent the Norfolk State men’s track and field team in the 110 meter hurdles this week at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

This is Nkrumah’s first career appearance at an NCAA national championship meet. He ran a time of 13.71 seconds to finish as the seventh-fastest out of the 12 athletes from the NCAA East Preliminary round.

This marks the second straight year that a Spartan hurdler has qualified for nationals.
