Shakia Forbes was named MEAC Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Tessema (Sr., Springfield, Va., Distance) set personal records and first-place finishes in both the 800m (1:53.82) and 5,000m (14:56.11) at the CNU Vince Brown Invitational. His time
Forbes (Sr., Hampton, Va., Jumps) leaped 20-09.00ft. (6.32m) to set a school record at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. The senior took home third place honors out of 22 competitors and is ranked seventh national in the event.

Cynthia Anais (UMES) finished in seventh and broke her school record with a time of 2:05.66 in the 800m run at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
Champagne Bell (NSU) cleared 5-4.25 ft in the high jump to capture the gold at the CNU Invite. She also won the 400m in 57.25.
Owen Cain (UMES) leaped 15.06m and finished among the top 15 at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
Kemar Clarke (B-CU) finished ninth overall with a time of 7.81 in the 60m hurdles at the New Balance Collegiate Invite.
Reggie Dixon (Hampton) earned a second place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 6.63 at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
Kadian Dunkley (B-CU) Led the Lady Wildcats in the 3,000m (10:30.68) and mile (5:09.73) at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
Jarrell Elliott (NCAT) set a school record in the 400m dash with a time of 47.43 at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. He also was among the top three in the 200m dash with a time of 21.28.
Christina Epps (CSU) broke her own record in the triple jump with a mark of 42-00.75ft (5th place) and finished 18th in the long jump (18-00.25 ft.) at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
