SC State Trackster Competing in World University Games

South Carolina State sophomore Seymour Walter, a US Virgin Islands native, is among 10 college athletes from his country participating in the World University Games now being conducted in Shenzhen, China.

Walter, one of six track and field athletes from the USVI, will compete in the 800 meters which will be run at midnight Aug. 19 at the venue.

Walter, who is beginning his sophomore season at SC State, was the Bulldogs number two performer in cross country last season. He also was the team's top performer in the 800 meters and 1500 meters, finishing seventh in both events at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship.

Walter is a criminal justice major of St. Croix.
