Norfolk State Alum Debbie Dunn Places 3rd in 400 Meters at USA Championships

Norfolk State alumna Debbie Dunn placed third in the women's 400 meters at the 2011 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field, earning her a place in the world championships later this year.
 
Dunn, the defending USA outdoor champion in the event, ran a time of 50.70 seconds, finishing behind winner Allyson Felix (50.40) and Hampton alumna Francena McCorory (50.49). All three will represent the USA at the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, Aug. 27-Sept. 4.
 
Dunn was NSU's first-ever Division I female track All-American. She earned All-American honors in the 200m (indoors) and 400m (outdoors) in 2000.
