MEAC Announces Track and Field Weekly Honors

Norfolk State junior Sean Holston and Maryland Eastern Shore junior Cynthia Anais were named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's and Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Holston (Jr., Spring Field, Va., Sprints) won the 400-meter dash at the Morgan State Legacy Meet. His time of 46.40 leads the MEAC and ranks 26th in the nation in the event.

Anais (Jr., Martinique, France, Sprints) captured gold in the 800-meter run (2:09.06) at the Morgan State Legacy Meet. She served at the anchor in the 4x400-meter relay placing first in 3:44.29. Anais' time in the 800m and the 4x400m relay both sit atop MEAC for those respective events.

Champagne Bell (NSU) - set a personal-best distance of 6.63m (21-09.00 ft) in the long jump to finish first at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.

Ryan Carter (DSU) - ran a season-best 21.19 in the 200-meter dash at the Morgan State Legacy Meet to capture gold.

Tracey Fan Fan (DSU) - took first place honors in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.29 at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.

Jennifer Mitchell (CSU) - leaped a personal-best mark of 5.72m (18-09.25 ft) placing third at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.

Benita Taylor (Ham) - finished second in the 800-meter dash (2:11.25) at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.

Andre Thomas (CSU) - captured gold in the 800-meter run (1:52.48) at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.

Andre Walsh (UMES) - earned a first place finish in the 200-meter dash (21.38) at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
