Norfolk State junior Sean Holston and Delaware State junior Tracy Fan Fan were named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's and Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Holston (Jr., Spring Field, Va., Sprints) was the top collegiate finisher in the 400-meter run, placing second overall with a time of 46.76 at the Sea Ray Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee. He was also a member of NSU's 4x100 meter relay team which captured gold with a season-best time of 40.73.
Fan Fan (Jr., South Orange, NJ., Sprints) took home gold in two events at the Delaware State Invitational in the 100-meter hurdles (14.78) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.50). She was a member of the 4x100 meter relay team that finished second (50.13) and the 4x400 relay team which finished fourth (4:25.93).
Other Top Performers:
Reggie Dixon (Ham) - won the 100-meter relay in 10.44 at the Sea Ray Relays.
Sherril McFarlane (SCSU) - was part of the 4x800 meter relay team that set a school record at the Sea Ray Relays with a fourth place finish in 9:30.03.
Marcus Stephens (SCSU) - placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 15.10m (49-06.50 ft.) at the Sea Ray Relays.
Alaine Tate (Ham) - captured gold in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.92 at the International Freedom and Friendship Games. She also placed second in the 1500-meter run (4:56.70).
