Hampton University senior Racquel Vassell and junior Reggie Dixon have been selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday.
Vassell (Sr., Irvington, New Jersey, Sprints) captured two second place finishes at the Penn State National Invitational including the 60m hurdles (8.16) and the 4x400m relay (3:43.33). Vassell's time in the 60m hurdles currently ranks first in the MEAC and third in the nation. She also placed fifth in the 200m dash (23.96).
Dixon (Jr., Plainfield, New Jersey, Sprints) set a school record and qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championship with a time of 6.58 in the 60m dash. He currently leads the MEAC and is second in the nation in the event.

Champagne Bell (NSU) set a personal-best long jump distance of 6.14m (20-01.75) during the Penn State Invitational.
Eric Cray (B-CU) captured gold in the 55m (6.47) at the Gamecock Indoor Open.
Sean Holston (NSU) took first place in the 400m at the Penn State Invitational with a time of 46.87.
Damian Miles (UMES) placed second in the 200m (21.52) at the Penn State Invitational.
Nickesha Williams (B-CU) won the 55m (6.92) at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational.
