Kemar Clarke was chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, while Norfolk State senior
Shanneka Claiborne and Savannah State senior
Amara Jones were named MEAC Women's Co-Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Clarke (Sr., Brooklyn, N.Y., Sprints) won the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.84 at the Clemson Orange and Purple Winter Classic. Clarke's time in the event leads the nation. He also finished among the top five in the 60m dash with a time of 6.86, which ranks 11th in the nation.
Claiborne (Sr., Ettrick, Va., Sprints) set a personal-record and meet record of 7.38 in the 60m dash at the Christopher Newport Open. Claiborne's time in the 60m leads the nation. She also finished among the top 15 in the 200m dash in 26.08.
Jones (Sr., Bahamas, Sprints) won three events at the Appalachian State Invite. Jones set a meet record and ranks ninth in the nation in the 200m dash with a time 24.70. She captured the gold and is among the top three in the nation in the 400 (55.57). Jones was also a member of the 4x400m relay team that captured the gold with at time of 3:53.54.

Nana Atakora-Bediako (NCCU) leaped a career-best 48 feet and 8.25 inches (14.84m) at the CNU Open.
Kareem Crawford (CSU) set a school record with a first-place time of 8.24 in the 60m hurdle at the Navy Invitational.
Reggie Dixon (Hampton) earned first-place finishes in the 60m dash (6.87) and the 200m dash (21.66) at the Navy Invite.
Kadian Dunkley (B-CU) won the mile run at the Clemson Invite of 5:04.12 at the Clemson Orange and Purple Winter Classic.
Alexis Easterling (CSU) aided Coppin State to a team title at the Bow-Tie Track Classic with four top-three finishes and a second place finish in the 4x200m relay.
Calisa Emerson (DSU) won the 200m dash (25.95) and was second in the 60m dash (7.97) at the Navy Invite.
Yazmin Hicks (SCSU) set personal records in the 55m dash (7.01) and the 200m dash (25.55) at the Appalachian State Invite.
Edward Hurley (DSU) was third with a time of 22.19 in the 200m dash at the Navy Invite.
Ashley McCoy (NCCU) captured the silver with a time of 7.46 in the 60m dash and was a member of the 4x400m relay team that finished in second with a time of 3:57.76 at the CNU Open.
Justin Taylor (SSU) finished among the top 15 in the triple jump (14.48m) and long jump (6.72m) at the Appalachian State Invite.
Josef Tessema (NSU) won the 3,000 meters and set a school record with a time of 8:26.95 at the CNU Invite.
Donta Young (SCSU) was second in the 55m hurdles (7.66) and seventh in the 200m dash at the Appalachian State Invite.
