Five runners from Maryland Eastern Shore's outdoor track and field team finished their season Wednesday evening with the top competitors in the country at the NCAA Division I Championships held at historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.
Sophomore Cynthia Anais finished the women's 800-meter run in a time of 2:12.54. Her time was good for 22nd place overall in what proved to be a difficult race due to rainy conditions.
The men's 4x100 relay team was disqualified during their event as a poor handoff on the second leg resulted in a dropped baton. The quartet of junior Thomas Keane-Dawes and sophomores Jermol Dix, Damian Miles and Akheem Gauntlett competed for the Hawks.
