Shamire Rothmiller and Bethune-Cookman sophomore
Kenson Nicholas were named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday.
Rothmiller (So., Glassboro, N.J.) finished second in the shot put with a 14.69m throw and third in the javelin with a 37.34m toss at the Weems Baskin Invite, hosted by South Carolina State.
Nicholas (So., Gros Islet, St. Lucia) won the long jump (6.55m) and triple jump (13.33m) and aided the Wildcats to a sixth place finish in the 4x100m relay (45.15) at the UCF Invitational.
Other Top Performers:
Cynthia Anais (UMES) won the 400m dash with a time of 56.94 and was a member of the 4x400m relay team that finished in second with a time of 3:50.76 at the Maryland Invite.
Aaron Anderson (Ham) posted a third place showing in the 200m (21.65) and was seventh in the 100m (10.63) at the Alabama Relays.
Akheem Gauntlett (UMES) finished in second in the 400m dash with a time of 47.96 at the Maryland Invite.
Wanetta Kirby (NSU) was among the top ten in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.15. Richards also competed in the long jump (19-3.25 ft.) and the 4x100m relay (46.01).
Petrice Richards (Ham) finished among the top five in the 100m (11.93), 200m (24.16) dashes. She aided the 4x100m relay team to a second place finish and was eighth in the 4x400m (3:53.73) at the UCF Invitational.
