Dixon Wins Two More Titles At Golden Flash Gala

Hampton junior Reggie Dixon continued his hot start to the 2010-11 indoor season on Friday and Saturday, picking up two event titles at the Golden Flash Gala hosted by Kent State University at the Kent State Field House.

Dixon ran a facility-record 6.68 to take the 60-meter dash, before turning in a 21.31 to win the 200-meter dash. The reigning MEAC Athlete of the Week also won two event titles on Dec. 5 at the season-opening Navy Invitational.

Senior Aaron Anderson finished second in the 60-meter dash with a 6.89, while coming in third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.65.

Senior Predist Walker won the 60-meter hurdles after running an 8.01 in the final, while also finishing fourth in the long jump with a mark of 7.06 meters.

Senior Damon Dixon finished third in the men's heptathlon with a school-record 5,241 points. Dixon won two events in the heptathlon, taking the high jump with a mark of 2.08 meters and 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.26.

He was also on the 4x400-meter relay team - along with freshmen Brandon Burton, Je'Von Hutchison and Stacy Robinson - that finished sixth with a 3:18.62.

Freshman Jaleel Rogers ran a 1:55.07 to finish second in the 800-meter run, with Burton coming in third with a 1:55.22. Hutchison ran a 1:56.19 to come in seventh.
