Calesio Newman were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Thursday.
McCorory (Sr., 200m, 400m, Hampton, Va.) won the 60m dash with a time of 7.51 seconds at the NYU Gotham Cup. The senior set a school record and took home first-place honors in the 500m dash with a time of 1:17.64. McCorory was also a member of the 4x400m relay team that won the gold with a time of 3:50.79.
Newman (Sr., Sprints, Green Sea, S.C.) provisionally qualified and won the 60m dash with a time of 6.70 at the Virginia Tech Invite. His time leads the MEAC and is sixth in the nation this season in the event. Newman also finished among the top ten in the 300m with a time of 34.55.

Tyron Benjamin (MSU) finished second out of 17 athletes with a 17.64m throw in the shot put at the Penn State Challenge.
Allodin Fothergill (UMES) topped his own school record in the 500m with a time of 1:01.74 at the NYU Gotham Cup.
Vanessa Henry (UMES) won the shot put with a 14.65m throw and was second in the weight throw with a 15.34m toss at the NYU Gotham Cup.
Ashley Hodges (How) won the 800m with a time of 2:17.31 and aided the Lady Bison to a fourth place finish at the Maryland Invitational.
Sean Holston (NSU) won the 200m dash with a time of 21.76 and guided the 4x400m relay team to a second place finish with a time of 3:14.26.
Allison Randall (MSU) placed second in the shot put with a throw of 13.83m and was just shy of a top-10 finish in the weight throw with an 11th place mark of 14.40m at the Penn State Challenge.
Benjamin Rosa (How) earned a pair of top-10 finishes at the Maryland Invite, including a sixth place tie in the high jump (1.93m ) and fourth place finish in the triple jump (13.87m).
Predist Walker (Ham) won the 60m hurdles in 7.93 and was a member of the 4x400m relay team that finished in 13th at the NYU Gotham Cup.
