Hampton?s Dixon In 100-Meter NCAA Final

Hampton University sophomore Reggie Dixon qualified for the finals of the 100-meter dash at the 2009 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships at John McDonnell Field on the campus of the University of Arkansas on Wednesday.

 

Dixon ran the 13th-best time in the preliminary heats, turning in a 10.29 to advance to the evening’s semifinal heats. He ran a 10.33 in the semifinals, the seventh-quickest time, to advance to the finals.

 

The 100-meter dash finals will be held Friday at 7:45 p.m.

 

Dixon will also compete in the 200-meter dash, with preliminary heats beginning Thursday at 6:25 p.m. Semifinal heats will be run at 7:45 that evening, with the finals scheduled for Saturday at 12:42 p.m.

 

Junior Francena McCorory advanced to the semifinals of the 400-meter dash on Wednesday, running a 53.40 in the preliminary heats ? the fifth-quickest time. The semifinals will be run on Friday at 7:15 p.m., with the final scheduled for 12:05 p.m. on Saturday.
