Bowen Wins 400 Meter Dash at IC4A Championships; Qualifies for NCAA Regional

Morgan State’s Kevin Bowen concluded the 2009 IC4A Outdoor Track & Field championships by winning the 400 meter dash on Sunday at Weaver Stadium.

 

Bowen, who also ran the fastest time in the preliminary round, won the title in the finals with a time of 46.81. His time also qualified him for the NCAA Regional championships, hosted by Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rival North Carolina A&T State on May 29-30 in Greensboro, N.C.

 

Bowen didn’t stop there, as he also placed third overall in the 200 meter dash, finishing in a time of 21.62.

 

As a team the men scored 16 points and finished tied with Virginia for 19th-place out of 52 teams. The University of Albany claimed the 2009 title with 68 points.

 

The final list of all athletes who will compete at the NCAA Regional Championships will be announced on Sunday, May 24.
