Hampton sophomore Racquel Vassell and Delaware State sophomore Larrone Moore were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Vassell (So, Sprints/Hurdles/Jumps, Irvington, NJ) tallied three individual top ten marks and guided her team to a fourth place finish at the Morgan State Legacy meet. She won the 100m dash with a time of 11.72 and was fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.14. Vassell was among the top ten in the long jump with a 17-07.50 ft. (5.37m) leap. She also ran the second leg of the 4x400m relay team that finished in third with a time of 3:49.96.
Moore (So., Sprints/LJ, Hyattsville, Maryland) led his team to a third place finish at the Morgan State Legacy meet. He qualified for the NCAA regional in two events and accounted for 18 of his team’s points. Moore won the 200m dash with a time of 21.21 and finished in second with a time of 10.48 in the 100m dash. He also ran the third leg of the 4x100m relay team that took home fourth place honors with a time of 41.20.

Natoya Baird (CSU) posted three individual top-seven finishes at the Morgan State Legacy meet.
Janet Brown (NSU) won the triple jump with a leap of 39-06 ft. (12.04m) at the Morgan State Legacy meet. She also hit a mark of 17-01.50 ft. (5.22m) in the long jump.
Merrecia James (UMES) won the 800m at the Morgan State Legacy meet with a time of 2:09.25.
Daniel Kinney (How) took home third place honors in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.93 and the 400m hurdles in 52.49 at the Morgan State Legacy meet.
James Moore (UMES) qualified for the NCAA regional with a 6-10.75 ft. (2.10m) at the Morgan State Legacy meet.
Shane Smith (CSU) qualified for the NCAA regional with a 16-06.75 ft. (5.05m) leap in the pole vault at the Morgan State Legacy meet.
Predist Walker (Ham) qualified for the NCAA regional with a second place in the long jump at the Morgan State Legacy meet. Walker leaped 24-03.75 ft. (7.41m) and was fifth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.08.
