Rams, Lady Rams to Take Part in Reebok Raleigh Relays

After fantastic performances at the Wake Forest Open last weekend, the Rams will look to keep things going when they return to action this weekend at the 2009 Reebok Raleigh Relays at the Paul Derr Track & Stadium on the campus of North Carolina State University. After a number of top ten finishes and some great performances in the first two meets of the outdoor season, the Rams and Lady Rams will look to keep the momentum going.

The Rams and Lady Rams sprinters will definitely have something to prove when they take the track this weekend. After being edged out by .01 seconds in the women’s 100m dash last weekend, WSSU senior sprinter Wykeita Barnett will have a huge chip on her shoulder this weekend. Fellow senior sprinter Gerrod Sidbury will also have something to prove after placing fourth in the men’s 400m dash with less than a second separating him from first place as well.

The Lady Rams’ 4x100m relay team will also look to atone for last weekend as a lane violation disqualified the team’s run, which was one of the best at last weekend’s meet. Opponents will need to wary as the Lady Rams will have something to prove.
