Hampton junior Francena McCorory was named a 2009 Division I Indoor Track & Field All-American in the 400-meter dash on Saturday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
McCorory won the NCAA title in the 400-meter dash over the weekend, running an all-time personal-best 51.55. She also won the MEAC indoor title in the event, running a 53.22 in the event.
The top eight finishers from the NCAA Indoor Championships were named to the All-America team.

The Pirates and Lady Pirates will open the outdoor season this weekend in Winston-Salem, N.C. at the Wake Forest Open.
