MEAC Announces Track and Field Weekly Honors

Hampton junior Francena McCorory and Bethune-Cookman sophomore Ronnie Ash were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

 

McCorory (Sprints, Jr., Hampton, Virginia) won the 400m dash at the Armory New Balance Collegiate Invitational. Her time of 52.06 seconds in the event is the best time in the nation and automatically qualified her for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

 

Ash (Sprints/Hurdles, So., Raleigh, North Carolina) captured the gold and set a school record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.68 at the Armory New Balance Collegiate Invitational. His time automatically qualified him for the Indoor Track and Field Championships and ranks second in the nation.

Reggie Dixon
(HAM) finished first in the 60m dash with a time of 6.73 at the Armory New Balance Collegiate Invitational.

 

Keenan Harris (NSU) won the 800m with a time of 1:56.94 and was a member of the 4x400m relay team that won with a time of 3:24.75.

 

Saisha Woodward (UMES) broke her own school record in the weight throw with a 14.67m toss at the CNU Vince Brown Invitational.
