Hampton junior Predist Walker won a pair of event titles on Saturday at the season-opening Navy Invitational, held at the Wesley A. Brown Fieldhouse.
Walker won the long jump with a distance of 6.98 meters, while also taking the 60-meter hurdles race with a time of 7.90 - which is a provisional NCAA qualifier. Walker also ran a 7.96 in the preliminary heats of the 60-meter hurdles to come in second in that round.
Walker also finished fourth in the 60-meter dash, running a 6.94.
Junior Aaron Anderson finished second in the 60-meter dash after running a 6.85, before running a 21.91 in the 200-meter dash to finish second. Junior Damon Dixon finished second in the high jump at 1.99 meters, while also finishing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.17.
The 4x800-meter relay team (Lawrence Campbell, Bradley Brown, David Kimani, Xavier Fraction) ran a 7:52.96 to finish second.
Fraction also finish fourth in the mile run with a 4:21.58, while Kimani came in fourth in the 3,000-meter run after running an 8:38.81. Fraction and Kimani also teamed with Barien White and Cedric Rainey to finish fifth in the distance medley, running a 10:27.12.
Junior Lamar Veale finished in a tie for fifth in the high jump at 1.89 meters, while also running an 8.57 in the 60-meter hurdles to finish eighth.
Stephen Ramsey finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.47, while Jamal Johnson ran a 7.05 in the 60-meter dash to finish seventh.
The Pirates will return to action on Friday and Saturday, when they travel to Kent, Ohio for the Golden Flash Gala at the Kent State Field House.
